This program SENIOR CITIZEN HELP LINE 1090 has been supported by Department for Empowerment of Differently Able and Senior Citizens, Government of Karnataka, Bangalore. To implement this program a District level monitoring team has been set up and commissioned on 14-07-2014. This Help Line Office is located in the Office of the Police Superintendent, Chickmagalur District at Chickmagalur. We conducted a program by District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) in Chikkamagaluru & Kalasa. We conducted Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) program in villages & supported by our officers.
The District-level Monitoring Committee is chaired by the SP, with the committee members including, AC- Chickmagalur Sub-Division, District Surgeon, a Representative from the Senior Citizen committee, and DDWO Member Secretary and coordinated by this organization’s Secretary. The main activity of this committee is to hear and help the call of senior citizens in distress through counseling, guidance, support, and the rehabilitation process. This activity covers all eight taluks of the Chickmagalur District. The above Help Line has been provided with a toll-free telephone bearing number 1090 for convenient and timely communication for the right holders.
